A Night in White: Celebrating Women, Advocacy, and the Fight Against Uterine Fibroids

July is Fibroid Awareness Month
, making it an important time to shine a light on uterine fibroids and the women whose lives are impacted by them. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend A Night in White, the signature fundraising gala of The White Dress Project, and it was an evening centered around empowerment, advocacy, wellness, and community.

As the centerpiece of The Empowerment Experience, a three-day event dedicated to educating and supporting women impacted by uterine fibroids, A Night in White brought together advocates, healthcare leaders, public figures, and supporters who are committed to advancing women's health and health equity.

The evening was both elegant and impactful, celebrating the leaders and changemakers who are helping to create greater awareness and access to care. This year's honorees included Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o, Necole Kane, U.S. Senator Angela Alsobrooks, and other influential leaders making a difference in women's health.

Beyond the glamour of the evening, the gala highlighted the importance of continued advocacy and access to resources. Uterine fibroids affect millions of women, yet many continue to face challenges when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Events like A Night in White help bring these conversations to the forefront while creating opportunities to support women directly.

Proceeds from the event benefit the White Dress Cares Patient Fund, which helps women overcome financial barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Knowing that the evening directly supports women who may otherwise struggle to access the care they need made the experience even more meaningful.

The Empowerment Experience is a reminder that awareness is only the beginning. Through education, advocacy, wellness, and community, women are being empowered to better understand their health and advocate for the care they deserve.

Attending A Night in White was a beautiful reminder of the power of bringing people together for a purpose. From celebrating influential women to supporting an important cause, the evening was filled with style, inspiration, and meaningful conversations about the future of women's health.

As we recognize Fibroid Awareness Month this July, it is important to continue educating ourselves, sharing resources, and supporting organizations working to improve the lives of women impacted by uterine fibroids.

Because when women are informed, supported, and empowered, the impact reaches far beyond one evening.

How I'm Learning to Regulate My Nervous System and Reconnect With the Real World

I've noticed just how much noise fills my day. Notifications, emails, social media, news alerts, and endless scrolling are always competing for my attention. At some point, I realized that while I was constantly connected online, I had started to feel disconnected from myself.

As a content creator and social media professional, being online is part of my job. But I've realized that if I'm not intentional, my screen time can easily take over my day—and my peace of mind. Lately, I've been focusing on healthy ways to regulate my nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and reconnect with the world around me. The goal isn't to abandon technology altogether. It's about creating balance and making room for experiences that leave me feeling grounded, present, and energized.

What Does It Mean to Regulate Your Nervous System?
Your nervous system is constantly responding to what's happening around you. When we're overloaded with information, stress, and stimulation, our bodies can remain in a heightened state of alertness. This can show up as anxiety, irritability, brain fog, difficulty sleeping, or simply feeling exhausted. Learning to regulate your nervous system means finding practices that help your body return to a place of calm and safety.

1. Start Your Day Without Your Phone
One of the most impactful changes I've made is resisting the urge to immediately check my phone when I wake up. Instead, I spend the first 15 to 30 minutes stretching, praying, journaling, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee. Starting my day with my own thoughts instead of everyone else's has made a noticeable difference in my mood and focus.

2. Take More Walks Outdoors
As an Atlanta native, I'm fortunate to have access to beautiful outdoor spaces. Whether it's a walk on the BeltLine, a visit to a local park, or simply strolling through my neighborhood, spending time outside helps me reset mentally and physically. Fresh air, sunshine, and movement are powerful tools for calming the nervous system.

3. Reconnect Through Face-to-Face Conversations
Technology allows us to stay connected, but nothing replaces real human interaction.
I've started prioritizing coffee dates, lunch meetups, and phone calls with friends over endless texting. Sharing laughter, stories, and meaningful conversations in person creates a level of connection that social media simply can't replicate.

4. Create Screen-Free Evenings
Not every evening has to involve scrolling through social media or binge-watching television. Some nights, I read a book, work on a Lego set, listen to vinyl records, or journal. These simple activities help signal to my brain that it's time to slow down and unwind.

5. Practice Deep Breathing
It sounds simple because it is. When I feel overwhelmed, I pause and focus on taking slow, intentional breaths. Deep breathing tells the nervous system that you're safe, helping reduce stress and anxiety in the moment. It's a small habit that can have a big impact.

6. Rediscover Hobbies That Bring You Joy
One of the best ways to spend less time online is to become fully engaged in something offline. For me, that's building Legos, exploring Atlanta, attending local events, and discovering new restaurants. Hobbies provide a healthy escape from the constant stream of information and help us reconnect with ourselves.

7. Be Present Where Your Feet Are
This has become my personal reminder. It's easy to be physically present while mentally somewhere else—checking notifications, responding to messages, or thinking about the next thing on our to-do list. When I'm with friends, at an event, or enjoying a quiet moment at home, I try to put my phone away and fully experience what's happening right in front of me.

Final Thoughts
The truth is, our phones and technology aren't going anywhere. They can be wonderful tools for connection, learning, and creativity. But they shouldn't come at the expense of our well-being.

This season, I'm challenging myself to spend less time consuming and more time living. More walks. More conversations. More laughter. More moments that don't need to be documented to be meaningful. Because sometimes the best way to reconnect with yourself is to disconnect from your screen. How are you creating more balance in your life? I'd love to hear what's helping you regulate your nervous system and reconnect with the world around you.

As FIFA Comes to Atlanta: An Atlanta Native’s Guide to Experiencing the City Like a Local

With FIFA bringing fans from around the world to Atlanta, there’s never been a better time to explore everything that makes this city special. As an Atlanta native, I love sharing the places, stories, and experiences that give our city its unique personality.

Whether you're visiting for a match or extending your stay, Atlanta offers so much more than what you'll find on a typical tourist itinerary. Recently, I had the opportunity to check out 100 Things to Do in Atlanta Before You Die, 4th Edition by Kimberly Stroh, and it serves as a fantastic guide for anyone looking to experience the city beyond the stadium. From historic landmarks to legendary restaurants, here are a few must-visit spots I recommend for FIFA visitors looking to experience Atlanta like a local.

Grab Fried Chicken at Busy Bee Cafe
No visit to Atlanta is complete without experiencing the rich history and incredible food at Busy Bee Cafe. Located in Vine City, this iconic restaurant has been serving up Southern comfort food for decades. Founded by self-taught cook Lucy Jackson, Busy Bee became much more than a restaurant—it was a gathering place for community leaders and civil rights activists during a pivotal time in Atlanta's history. Of course, the fried chicken is legendary, but it's the stories behind the walls that make every visit memorable.

Dine Where Civil Rights History Was Made at Paschal’s
Atlanta's civil rights legacy can be felt throughout the city, and Paschal’s Restaurant is one of the most important places to experience it. Civil rights leaders including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, Andrew Young, and Jesse Jackson frequently gathered here to strategize and build community. Paschal’s wasn't simply a restaurant—it played an active role in supporting the movement by providing a safe space for meetings and assistance for activists. Today, visitors can enjoy classic Southern cuisine while connecting with an important chapter of Atlanta's history.

Explore Atlanta’s Story at the Atlanta History Center

If you're looking to understand how Atlanta became the city it is today, make time for the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead. Spread across 33 beautiful acres, the campus features historic homes, gardens, exhibitions, and interactive experiences that bring Georgia's past to life. As someone who grew up here, I still learn something new every time I visit. It's one of the best places to gain a deeper appreciation for Atlanta's journey from a railroad town to one of the South's most influential cities.

Experience the Best of Atlanta Beyond the Matches

Atlanta is a city that blends history, culture, food, and innovation unlike anywhere else. While FIFA may be the reason you're visiting, I encourage you to venture beyond the stadium and discover the neighborhoods, restaurants, green spaces, and hidden gems that locals love.

Whether you're walking in the footsteps of civil rights legends, enjoying some of the city's best Southern cooking, taking in skyline views, or exploring attractions that have shaped Atlanta's identity, you'll quickly understand why so many of us are proud to call this city home.

April is officially Earth Month, which makes it the perfect time to be more intentional about the products we use in our everyday routines. From skincare to home essentials, going eco-friendly doesn’t just benefit the planet—it’s also better for our bodies. Recently, I had the opportunity to try a few products from Atlanta-based brand Cheeky Maiden, and I’m excited to share my thoughts.

Infused with refreshing, soothing scents, they help open up your senses and create a calming atmosphere. Perfect for those early mornings or when you need a little reset after a long day.

This candle is exactly what its name promises—calm in a jar. Made with beeswax, it burns clean and gives off a soft, comforting glow. The scent is subtle but relaxing, making it ideal for winding down in the evening, journaling, or setting the mood for a cozy night in.

Lavender + Grapefruit Room Spray
This room spray is the perfect balance of fresh and soothing. The lavender brings a calming element, while the grapefruit adds a light, uplifting citrus touch. I’ve been using it throughout my home, and it instantly refreshes any space without being overpowering.

Final Thoughts
Cheeky Maiden is a beautiful example of how clean beauty and eco-conscious living can seamlessly fit into your lifestyle. The fact that these products are handmade with care, locally produced, and crafted with safe ingredients makes them even more special. Marc by Sofia: A Powerful Look at a Fashion Icon’s Journey

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend an early screening of Marc by Sofia, and as a longtime fan of Marc Jacobs, this experience felt especially meaningful.

The documentary offers an intimate look into the life and career of fashion icon Marc Jacobs, giving viewers a deeper understanding of the creative genius behind one of the most influential brands in fashion. From his early beginnings to the evolution of his label, the film beautifully captures both his professional triumphs and personal challenges.

What stood out most to me was how raw and honest the storytelling felt. It wasn’t just a highlight reel of success—it showed the grit, resilience, and vision it takes to remain relevant in an ever-changing industry. As someone who has followed Marc Jacobs’ work for years, it was inspiring to see the man behind the brand in such a real and unfiltered way.

Marc by Sofia is a must-watch for fashion lovers, creatives, and anyone who appreciates a story of passion and perseverance. It’s officially in theaters today, so be sure to check it out.

SCAD TVfest 2026: Legends, Love Stories, and Impactful Television

Every year, SCAD TVfest feels like a homecoming, but this year? This year was extra special.

The 14th Annual SCAD TVfest reminded me exactly why this is my favorite time of the year. From inspiring conversations to unforgettable moments with the people who shape the stories we love, the festival once again delivered magic.

One of the most meaningful highlights for me was meeting Jeff Probst. As a longtime Survivor fan, this moment truly felt full circle. Survivor has been a constant in my life for years, so having the opportunity to chat with him about Survivor 50 was honestly surreal. It was one of those moments where fandom and real life beautifully collide, and I don’t take that lightly at all.

This year, I also had the incredible opportunity to interview the “Hallmark’s Power of Love” panel, which brought together such a dynamic and beloved group of creatives. The panel featured:

Matthew Lawrence (Second Chance Love, Boy Meets World)
Chilli (Second Chance Love, TLC)
Alison Sweeney (Executive Producer, Romance at Hope Ranch, Days of Our Lives)
Evan Roderick (Because of Cupid, Spinning Out)

The conversation was filled with warmth, intention, and genuine insight into storytelling centered on love, growth, and second chances, everything Hallmark does so well.

I also had the pleasure of interviewing Jalyn Hall and Precious Way from NBC’s The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.

I was also able to interview Brandon Mendez Homer and Laëtitia Hollard from HBO Max’s The Pitt.

Moments like these are why SCAD TVfest means so much to me. It’s not just about celebrity sightings or red carpets. It’s about storytelling, representation, creativity, and community. It’s about being in rooms where passion meets purpose and leaving inspired to keep telling stories of my own. Once again, SCAD TVfest reminded me why I look forward to this event all year long. And if this year was any indication, the magic is only getting bigger.

A Beloved Atlanta Staple Begins a New Chapter: Wild Heaven Beer Acquires EATS

With the new year comes new beginnings and for Atlanta, this one feels especially close to home. As an Atlanta native, there are certain places that feel woven into the fabric of the city, and EATS is undeniably one of them. Known for its legendary jerk chicken, comforting meat and threes, and nearly three decades of feeding Atlantans with heart, EATS has always been more than a restaurant. It has been a cultural institution.

That is why the news that Wild Heaven Beer has acquired the iconic EATS brand feels less like a change and more like a continuation of something deeply special. Beginning in the new year, Wild Heaven will officially become the steward of the EATS legacy, bringing it to their West End location at the Lee + White complex, a neighborhood that already embodies Atlanta’s creative and communal spirit.

This transition comes as Wild Heaven’s current food partner, El Tesoro, prepares to move on from the taproom kitchen. While El Tesoro will no longer operate inside Wild Heaven West End, they are not going far and will soon become neighbors elsewhere within the Lee + White development. It is a true Atlanta moment with growth, collaboration, and community all sharing the same block. Wild Heaven has expressed deep appreciation for El Tesoro and looks forward to continuing that shared sense of neighborhood.

“EATS has been part of Atlanta’s culinary DNA for decades,” said Nick Purdy, Co President of Wild Heaven Beer. “We’re honored to carry that torch forward. Our goal is to preserve what people have always loved about EATS while giving it a thoughtful, sustainable home inside our West End brewery.”

He added that the intention is not to reinvent the brand, but to reach 99% fidelity to the experience so many Atlantans treasure, a promise that longtime fans can appreciate. “Eric and I couldn’t be prouder to have a chance to steward the next chapter of EATS.”

For Bob Hatcher, the original founder and owner of EATS, this next chapter feels like a full circle moment. “Just when I thought it was over, I was approached by a group adamant about keeping the EATS brand alive, longtime customers and friends, Brent and Amity Dey, along with Wild Heaven Brewery owners, Nick and Eric,” he shared. With longtime EATS manager Levi Nichols also on board, Hatcher says he is excited to welcome the loyal community back to their favorite booths once again.

As someone who grew up watching Atlanta evolve while holding tight to the places that define it, this news feels like a win. The entire Wild Heaven team has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to help keep one of Atlanta’s most cherished food institutions alive and thriving, and it shows in the care they are putting into this transition.

Guests at the West End taproom can expect a refreshed but familiar EATS experience that honors the original flavors, comfort, and spirit that made the restaurant a staple in the first place. More details, including menu updates, timelines, and special events, will be shared in the coming weeks.

For now, it is just exciting to know that a place so many of us grew up loving is getting the chance to live on right here in the city it helped shape. Atlanta, this one is for us.

SHEIN Unveils First-Ever U.S. Trends Report, Spotlighting the Styles That Defined 2025

Global fashion and lifestyle retailer SHEIN has unveiled its first-ever U.S. Trends Report, offering a deep dive into how American shoppers defined style, beauty, and everyday living in 2025. The report highlights key customer preferences, top-performing categories, and emerging lifestyle trends that shaped how shoppers across the country engaged with SHEIN throughout the year.

Across the U.S., 2025 fashion was driven by pieces that seamlessly blended comfort, functionality, and personal expression—proving that everyday style can still feel intentional and impactful. To better capture how these preferences showed up nationwide, SHEIN broke the data down by region. From the Northeast’s polished practicality to the South’s relaxed charm, the Midwest’s comfort-first staples, and the West Coast’s modern edge, the year reflected a collective commitment to style that fits real life.

Nationwide Trends: What America Shopped in 2025

Women’s apparel led the way nationwide, with tops emerging as the top-performing category in every region. Shoppers gravitated toward versatile silhouettes in timeless black and white, alongside patterned and multicolored designs that added interest to everyday outfits. Accessories also played a major role, with dainty jewelry, personalized bag charms, and easy-to-layer pieces elevating even the simplest looks. Together, these trends revealed a shared desire for reliable wardrobe staples that balance style with wearability.

Beyond fashion, lifestyle purchases surged across beauty and home categories. Affordable beauty essentials—like dermaplaning tools and satin bonnets—became everyday must-haves, while practical home solutions such as dryer vent cleaners and pet grooming tools reflected a growing interest in value-driven products that simplify daily routines. These items consistently ranked as top sellers nationwide, underscoring a collective focus on convenience, functionality, and smart problem-solving.
Regional Style Highlights

While many trends overlapped across the country, each region showcased a distinct style identity shaped by climate, culture, and lifestyle.

Northeast: Coastal Cool

Northeastern style in 2025 struck a balance between bold expression and practical versatility. Women leaned into clean, minimalist silhouettes with subtle Y2K-inspired details—think tube tops and tie-front blouses layered under structured outerwear. Men favored coordinated short-sleeve button-down and shorts sets that transitioned effortlessly from weekday errands to weekend plans. Chunky knee-high boots and puffer zip-up vests supported year-round layering, while gold-and-pearl earrings added personality. Beauty and home purchases reflected everyday efficiency, from blister-prevention pads to compact kitchen tools like garlic presses.

South: Southern Ease

Southern shoppers embraced bright, breezy aesthetics defined by lightweight fabrics and relaxed fits. Cut-out batwing tees and floral blouses captured the region’s easygoing confidence, while men gravitated toward comfortable drawstring shorts ideal for warm-weather living. Beach-ready layers—such as loose-knit swimsuit cover-ups and open-toe flat sandals—completed the laid-back look. Accessories sparkled with temporary face and ear jewelry, while practical beauty and home essentials like pimple patches and disposable air fryer liners reflected a preference for simple, efficient solutions.

Midwest: Heartland Style

In the Midwest, 2025 style centered on comfort and approachability. Women relied on distressed denim shorts and relaxed V-neck tees as everyday staples, while men continued to favor drawstring shorts for effortless wear. Strappy flat sandals and dependable outerwear, like puffer vests, supported versatile, season-spanning outfits. Subtle accessories and temporary jewelry added a personal touch, while functional items such as waistband extenders and air fryer liners reinforced the region’s appreciation for comfort-driven, problem-solving products.

West: Pacific Coast Edge

On the West Coast, trend-forward simplicity defined the year. Women embraced camouflage-print tees and rolled-sleeve V-neck tops for looks that felt both easy and intentional, while men leaned into relaxed shorts and flat sandals that emphasized comfort. Clean lines and functional layering—anchored by staple puffer vests—gave outfits a modern, adaptable feel. Minimalist accessories and temporary jewelry completed the aesthetic, while practical home and beauty items, from blister-prevention pads to silicone cooktop mats, highlighted the region’s continued focus on streamlined living.

As we reflect on the styles and must-haves that shaped 2025, all eyes are already on what’s next. From new trends and color stories to everyday essentials, we’re excited to see how SHEIN shoppers continue to express comfort, creativity, and individuality in 2026—and beyond.

Smart Layering: Transitioning from Autumn to Winter

Now that the temperatures have dropped, boots have become a part of your wardrobe that is as essential as your jacket or sweater. The best part is that there are many stylish boots, loafers, and shoes under $100. You could go for ankle boots with a heel for casual outings or loafers to wear with socks for a warm day. You can even go for functional boots that will make you look classy. A complete look is not complete without a pair of stylish shoes.

Now that we have addressed the basics, we will dive right in.

I know you can feel that nice and crisp air, too—it’s definitely layering season now! Winter is all about layered looks that feature fabulous textures and colors and achieve that perfect balance between staying warm and staying fashionable. It’s during this time of year that preparing for a day out actually feels exciting and relaxed and not as though you’re dressed and ready in a flash. Honestly, lately, I find that I’m living in oversized sweaters. They are soft and comfortable and actually extremely versatile; you can dress them up with more formal clothing and also wear them casually for a trip out for errands.

1. Begin with Texture

Texture is what elevates a striped shirt and pants dress from being bland to being deliberate. By incorporating different textures through varying fabrics, even if staying on the same color scheme, you will achieve interest. Layer your structured denim jacket with your thick cable knit sweater, or add your suede jacket to your ribbed top. Fall and winter offer the perfect conditions to explore various textured fabrics like knits, wool, suede, leathers, and corduroy. You would be surprised how well all of them come together.

2. Think Layers, Not Bulk

The trick to layering smart is warmth without weight. You don’t want to feel like you’re wearing everything you own at once. Begin with a solid foundation: jeans or tailored trousers or a long skirt, and a fitted long-sleeved shirt or light sweater. Then start building up. Add layers of clothing that keep you warm but also retain shape. By using thinner layers, you can layer warmth without having to give up mobility.

3. Play with Proportions

Proportion is the key when it comes to layering. The easiest way to wear oversized pieces is to pair them with something that fits. Long oversized blazers with skinny jeans, tunic sweaters with leggings or high boots, and oversized denim jackets with tailored trousers will all work together to create a flattering silhouette. Do not be afraid to mix and match cropped jackets over longer tops or wide-legged trousers with a fitted sweater will completely transform the look of an outfit while still making it wearable in inclement weather.

4. Keep It Cozy with Accessories

Accessories are where your personality really shines through. A fashionable hat, scarf, eye-catching bag, and of course, the right shoes can dress up even the simplest outfit. Add a neutral beanie scarf or a plaid scarf for a warm fall look or go bold with accessories in rust, olive, or wine hues. These are guaranteed to instantly dress up your outfit and give it a deliberate look. Even a simple outfit consisting of jeans, a sweater, and boots can be stylishly put together with the right accessories.

Ultimately, layering for winter is all about being comfortable, confident, and creative. In all reality, you don't need a whole new wardrobe, not when you can mix, match, and layer with expertise. The right layers will keep you warm, stylish, and prepared for whatever life has in store for you when the seasons change

The Best Fall Trends for 2025

This fall, we are mixing a little luxury with bold choices with patterns like polka dots, sequins, and statement accessories. Boho Chic is making a big comeback with textures, flowy silhouettes, and earthy tones. Some standout items to look out for: leather bomber jackets, barrel-legged jeans, long fitted skirts, cardigans, and leggings.

If you’re wondering how to bring these trends into your own wardrobe, here are three easy ways:

1. School Prep

Think crisp white shirts with ties, cardigans, and structured skirts. A leather bomber jacket over a tailored skirt or barrel jeans instantly updates a preppy look. Add loafers or boots, and you’ve got an outfit that works for the office, brunch, or even a night out after work or school.

2. Maximalism Feels

Sequins and statement accessories may be a little more than you're comfortable with, so start small. Wear a polka dot shirt with jeans, or add one piece—like an oversized belt, a sparkly tote bag, or layered gold and silver jewelry. You don't have to do too much; a little goes a long way without overwhelming your look.

3. Country Look for Everyday

This is where equestrian chic meets day-to-day wear. Add in some warm textures like suede boots, fringe purses, or a cardigan. A floor-length flowy skirt in muddy colors (burgundy, mustard, or olive) and a plain top is a cozy but stylish outfit. It's effortless and ideal for fall weekends.

Best Bags to Take You from Summer to Fall

Whether you're headed back to work, school, or weekend getaways, these picks are perfect to enjoy now—light, functional and fashion-forward—and will easily transition into fall once the weather cools down. Here are some of the best bags to take you from sunny days to crisp autumn breezes—practical for everyday life but stylish enough to stand out.

1. The Structured Tote: Workday Staple

Trade in the woven beach bag for a leather or vegan leather structured tote. It instantly polishes up any look, has space for your laptop and fall planner, and comes in rich autumn colors like burgundy, camel, or olive green.

My Pick: Choose totes with inner pockets to stay organized and chic.

2. Mini Crossbody: Small but Mighty

Summer is all about hands-free, and you can carry on that feeling with a mini crossbody bag. opt for suede or textured leather to bring in fall sentiments.

3. Backpacks: A Versatile Bag Option

Backpacks are widely used beyond school settings—they offer a practical and versatile way to carry personal items. Choosing one in a dark or neutral color can complement fall clothing layers. Features such as padded straps, laptop sleeves, and sustainable materials may add value. adidas backpacks are known for their durability and modern design. They can be suitable for various situations, from weekends to weekdays, the gym, or the workplace, with options available for different preferences.

 4. Bucket Bags: Casual Yet Elegant

A bucket bag's relaxed shape works year-round but looks especially chic in fall when paired with boots and chunky sweaters. opt for one with metallic hardware or drawstrings to add a dressier touch.

5. Convertible Bags: The Ultimate Multi-Tasker

Can't decide between a crossbody, clutch, or shoulder bag? Get all three in one! Convertible bags are perfect for in-between seasons—and styles—especially if you're always on the go. Detachable straps and modular designs offer choices for every appearance.

Recap of My RestFuel Visit: Recharge, Restore, Refuel

As my birthday approached, I wanted to treat myself to a unique experience that would help me unwind and rejuvenate. That's when I decided to visit RestFuel, a wellness center that offers a variety of healing therapies. One of the standout experiences was spending time in the Private Salt Room combined with Red Light therapy.

Upon entering the Private Salt Room, I was immediately enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere. The serene ambiance, complete with soothing lights and soft music, set the perfect tone for relaxation. The room was beautifully designed, with salt-covered walls that not only looked stunning but also provided therapeutic benefits.

Halotherapy, or salt therapy, is renowned for its ability to boost respiratory health, reduce inflammation, and rejuvenate the skin. As I settled into the comfortable space, I could feel the fine salt particles in the air working their magic. It was a gentle reminder to breathe deeply and allow my body to absorb the healing properties of the salt.

In addition to the halotherapy, the Red Light therapy added another layer to this rejuvenating experience. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties and skin rejuvenation benefits, Red Light therapy enhanced the healing process. I could feel my skin revitalizing with every moment spent under the warm glow. It was as if I was giving my body the perfect gift just in time for my birthday.

After the session, I emerged feeling refreshed, revitalized, and ready to celebrate. My experience at RestFuel not only prepared me for the upcoming festivities but also allowed me to take a moment of self-care in the midst of the usual birthday hustle.

If you're looking for a unique way to pamper yourself or to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend the Private Salt Room with Red Light therapy at RestFuel. It's an experience that nourishes both the body and the spirit. I left feeling rejuvenated, and I can't think of a better way to kick off my birthday celebrations!

Wellness Meets Heritage: How Black Girl Vitamins Is Nourishing Our Roots This Juneteenth

This Juneteenth, Black Girl Vitamins is redefining what intentional celebration looks like—and trust me, it's more than just fireworks and festivities. Their latest campaign, “Nourishing Our Roots,” is a beautiful fusion of culture, wellness, and community that honors Black heritage while investing in the health of Black women.

Running from June 16 to June 20, the initiative features a nostalgic '90s cookout-themed photo shoot that instantly transports us back to the essence of Black joy—good food, music, and connection. But beyond the vibes, the impact is powerful and purposeful.

At the heart of the campaign is a line of limited-edition Once-A-Day vitamins and collagen tubs, all designed by and for Black women. These aren’t just wellness products; they’re a statement. From the custom packaging to the mission behind it, everything is rooted in cultural pride and care for our community.

And if you’re one of the first 2,000 orders, you’re in for a treat. Each package comes with bonus beauty gifts like a satin bonnet (because hair care is self-care) and a pill case that keeps your daily wellness routine cute and consistent.

But here’s what truly makes this campaign stand out—it’s not just a sale. A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding Black women in medicine, helping to build a future where we’re not just cared for—we're leading the care.

Because let’s be real: Black wellness is Black history. And this Juneteenth, Black Girl Vitamins is reminding us that taking care of ourselves is one of the most radical, powerful things we can do.

So if you're looking for a way to celebrate with purpose, support a brand that supports you. Head over to Black Girl Vitamins and join the movement to nourish our roots—mind, body, and spirit.

My First Blavity Fest: A Weekend of Black Joy, Power & Style

I had the amazing opportunity to attend Blavity Fest for the very first time—and I can honestly say, it was everything I needed and more. A true celebration of Black excellence, creativity, and community, the festival brought together innovators, visionaries, and tastemakers from across the country in one powerful space. The energy was unmatched.

Blavity Fest is the result of a decade of intentional work to amplify Black voices and build spaces where we can connect, be inspired, and celebrate ourselves—and that mission was felt in every moment.

The Kickoff: A Fireside Chat That Set the Tone

The weekend started strong with a fireside chat between Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Dr. Key Hallmon. Their conversation was full of gems about the importance of community-driven leadership, showing up for one another in powerful ways and much more. It was the perfect way to ground the fest in purpose and pride.

Wealth, Wellness, Creativity, and Music

What I loved most about Blavity Fest was how it catered to the whole person—mind, body, soul, and bank account. The programming covered everything from building legacy businesses to finding balance and prioritizing self-care. Whether it was panels on investing, wellness activations, or creative workshops, each experience reminded me just how much Black ingenuity is changing the world.

And let’s talk about the music—because the vibes were immaculate. Live performances lit up the stage, and the DJs kept the crowd moving all day long. Between the dancing, networking, and just vibing with like-minded people, it truly felt like a family reunion meets empowerment summit.

Pop-Ups, Panels & Powerful Moments

There were brand pop-ups, dope photo ops, and interactive spaces that sparked conversation and connection. I had so many inspiring moments—from laughing with new friends in line to soaking up wisdom from Black founders and creatives doing incredible work.

Let’s Talk Fashion: My Outfit Was a Whole Moment

Okay, I can’t end this post without spotlighting my Blavity Fest look—because let me tell you, the compliments were nonstop.

Here are the outfit details:

I dressed to express, and Blavity Fest was the perfect place to do just that. Style was everywhere—from Afrofuturistic flair to sleek, minimal looks—and I loved how everyone showed up authentically and unapologetically.

Final Thoughts

Blavity Fest was more than just an event—it was an experience. A celebration of where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going as a community. I left feeling empowered, seen, and energized to keep showing up in my own purpose.

If you’ve never been, put it on your radar for next year. Trust me—you’ll want to be in the room.
