The Best Fall Trends for 2025

This fall, we are mixing a little luxury with bold choices with patterns like polka dots, sequins, and statement accessories. Boho Chic is making a big comeback with textures, flowy silhouettes, and earthy tones. Some standout items to look out for: leather bomber jackets, barrel-legged jeans, long fitted skirts, cardigans, and leggings.

If you’re wondering how to bring these trends into your own wardrobe, here are three easy ways:

1. School Prep

Think crisp white shirts with ties, cardigans, and structured skirts. A leather bomber jacket over a tailored skirt or barrel jeans instantly updates a preppy look. Add loafers or boots, and you’ve got an outfit that works for the office, brunch, or even a night out after work or school.

2. Maximalism Feels

Sequins and statement accessories may be a little more than you're comfortable with, so start small. Wear a polka dot shirt with jeans, or add one piece—like an oversized belt, a sparkly tote bag, or layered gold and silver jewelry. You don't have to do too much; a little goes a long way without overwhelming your look.

3. Country Look for Everyday

This is where equestrian chic meets day-to-day wear. Add in some warm textures like suede boots, fringe purses, or a cardigan. A floor-length flowy skirt in muddy colors (burgundy, mustard, or olive) and a plain top is a cozy but stylish outfit. It's effortless and ideal for fall weekends.

Achieving the Prep Aesthetic for Fall: Your Essential Guide

As the leaves start to change and the air turns crisp, it’s time to embrace the prep aesthetic—a timeless style that combines sophistication, comfort, and a touch of classic charm. Whether you’re headed to a casual brunch or an elegant gathering, the prep aesthetic offers versatility and an effortless chic vibe. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the essential items you need to achieve the perfect prep look this fall.

 1. Tailored Blazers

A fitted blazer is a cornerstone of the prep aesthetic. It instantly elevates any outfit, adding a polished touch. Opt for classic colors like navy, gray, or plaid. Layer it over a cozy sweater or a crisp white shirt for that quintessential preppy vibe.

 2. Sweaters and Cardigans

Fall is all about layering, and nothing embodies the prep aesthetic quite like a cashmere or wool sweater. Look for crewnecks, turtlenecks, or even a classic cable-knit. Cardigans are also a great option; they provide warmth while maintaining a relaxed yet refined look.

 3. Chinos and Tailored Trousers

Ditch the denim and opt for chinos or tailored trousers in neutral or earthy tones. These versatile pieces can be paired with almost anything and provide a smart-casual look that’s perfect for fall. Look for styles with a slightly tapered leg for a modern touch.

4. Classic Oxford Shirts

Every prep wardrobe needs a selection of classic Oxford shirts. They can be worn alone, layered under sweaters, or paired with blazers. Choose colors like white, light blue, and soft pastels for a fresh, clean look that never goes out of style.

 5. Statement Scarves

As temperatures drop, scarves become essential accessories. Opt for oversized scarves in plaid or solid colors that complement your outfits. Not only do they keep you warm, but they also add dimension and style to your ensemble.

 6. Loafers and Brogues

Footwear plays a vital role in achieving the prep aesthetic. Loafers and brogues are perfect for fall and can be styled with both trousers and skirts. Look for leather options in classic colors like brown or black. A pair of suede loafers can also add a touch of sophistication.

 7. Tailored Skirts

For those who prefer skirts, go for timeless styles like A-line or pleated skirts. Midi lengths work particularly well for fall and can be paired with knee-high boots or loafers. Opt for plaid or solid colors to maintain that classic prep look.

 8. Accessories: Belts and Watches

Accessories can make or break an outfit. A leather belt can add structure to your look, while a classic watch adds a touch of elegance. Look for accessories in muted tones to keep the focus on your outfit.

 9. Preppy Outerwear

When the chill sets in, a classic trench coat or a wool overcoat is a must-have. These pieces not only keep you warm but also add a sophisticated layer to your outfit. Choose neutral colors for versatility or go for a plaid pattern for a stylish twist.

 10. Chic Bags

Finally, complete your look with a chic handbag or tote. Structured bags in leather or canvas add a polished finish to your outfit. Look for styles that are both functional and fashionable, ensuring they can carry your essentials while maintaining your preppy aesthetic.

Final Thoughts

Achieving the prep aesthetic for fall is all about combining classic pieces with a modern twist. Focus on quality over quantity, and invest in timeless items that can be mixed and matched. With these essentials in your wardrobe, you’ll be ready to embrace the season in style while exuding that effortless preppy charm. Remember, confidence is key—wear your outfits with pride, and you’ll embody the prep aesthetic perfectly!

Mou Boots are the New Uggs

The Mou boots are the boots of the season and the hottest trend in boots this year. Though the Mou boot has been around for some years, it’s this year we are seeing them everywhere.

History of the Mou Boot

The Mou boot was founded by Shelley Tic borne in London in 2002. They have become a must-have fashion item and are in fact available in all major retail stores, even online. For example, you can also buy Mou Boots in the luxury fashion e-shop Luisaviaroma.

Characteristics of the Mou Boot

The Mou Boot is perfect for cold weather as they will help keep you warm (but not too warm!) and they are water resistant.

They are available for women, men, and children, though the boot is most popular with women and children.

The classic colors of the Mou Boot are gray and beige. However, you can also find them in other colors such as red, black, white and green as well as with decorations, such as glittering and sequins.

Mou Boots are made of natural fibers and with quality craftsmanship the boot is designed to last. The boots are handcrafted with materials such as natural leathers, sheep, goat or cow-hide skins that make the upper part of the boot, a soft and very warm wool, and quality rubber that protects the boot (and your foot!)

Though they do not come with a heel, you can choose between sneakers, slippers, an ankle Mou Boot, model ankle height, knee-high Mou Boot and more.
The popular styles are: Eskimo boots, Shearling boots and the mini Mou.

How to style Mou Boots

Mou Boots are a classic ‘cold weather comfortable’ boot that can go with almost anything. With so many styles to choose from, you can select a style based on your overall style preference as well as based off how you wish to incorporate them into your wardrobe and with your cold-weather wear.

You can incorporate the boots into your street style, perhaps even wear to them the office depending on your work setting, wear them out for a stroll in the cold weather, and take them on your cold weather holiday.

You can play around with styles and outfits so that the Mou boots help you share your own personal style.

Here are a few outfit ideas for inspiration:
·       Oversize ‘winter’, wool or knit dress, Mou Boots
·       Oversized sweater, black jeans, lace-up Mou Boots
·       Fitted sweater, trouser, Mou boots
·       Leather pants or leggings, fitted sweater, Mou Boots, wool coat

Do you like Mou Boots? Will you be trading your Uggs in for these?

Five Pieces You Need For Fall

Hello It's September which means FALL is near. Autumn is my favorite style season and I can't wait for layers, boots and Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Here are my top five pieces you need to have in your wardrobe this season.

"Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live." —Gianni Versace

Velvet: in all its forms is definitely one of the biggest trends of the season. The best part? It doesn't matter how or where you wear it—as long as you do. From velvet platform shoes to ankle boots, blazers, dresses and pants, there's really no wrong way to rock it.

Mules: It may seem a little weird at first, mules are basically an elevated version of a bedroom slipper. THESE ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITES. When you see me out 100% I will be rocking a pair. You can wear then with cropped black slacks for the office, or with straight leg jeans on the weekend.

Denim: Universal Piece

Turtlenecks are cozy and cool and when it comes time to upgrade and update your knitwear wardrobe—this should be your go-to.

Metallic accessories and shoes have pretty much always been in style. Gold and silver jewelry? Of course. A pair of silver-tone pumps? Yes. But what about a gold bomber jacket, or a pleated skirt in a metallic faux leather?

Madewell x Fall 2019

It's August and eventually we'll have to say goodbye to summer. Even though I severely dislike the shorter, darker days. But despite the twinge of disappointment that September's arrival inevitably brings, there are a couple of  things that I love about Fall --- Pumpkin Spiced Latte's and Fashion. So let's get into this Madewell's fall collection.

Inspired by the likes of '60s and '70s icons Ali McGraw, Jane Birkin and Annie Hall (a.k.a. Diane Keaton), the upcoming season's collection combines patterns and colors from the American Southwest with androgynous prep school styling and strategic layering for a fun and imaginative array of pieces destined to become cold-weather wardrobe staples.
The brand's Head of Design Joyce Lee's inspiration for the collection isn't exactly subtle. Straight out of Birkin's playbook, there are ultra-high rise, wide-leg cords, striped t-shirts and effortless floral sundresses. Ali McGraw's beloved sense of style comes forth in the form of mix-matching patterns and plaid blazers plucked straight out of Yale's back-to-school catalogue. As for Annie Hall, there's no shortage of stolen-from-your-boyfriend-dad oversized trousers, crisp button-downs and classic oxfords scattered in the mix.

As for accessories, you can expect to see everything from leather clogs and leopard print slides to striped socks and outfit-elevating hats. Basically, that long list of fall fashion must-haves that you've been adding to all summer can be marked off in one fell swoop thanks to Madewell's new collection.

How to Layer Up for Fall/Winter

Fall/Winter is my absolute favorite time of the year. In my opinion it shows who really has style. However, it can be a tricky to know which pieces complement what. The ultimate goal is to be warm, while still looking polished and never bulky. Since it's finally cooling off in Atlanta I wanted to share how you can create easy and chic outfits by layering.

INSPIRATION: 3.1 PHILLIP LIM

Add an extra layer of warmth between a button-front shirt and a jacket with a funnel-neck knit. Choose a sleeveless top to avoid bulking up. Shop the look below: Button-front: Joe Fresh, $59;  Knit: Exclusive for Intermix, $255; intermixonline.com Jacket: Mango, $70; mango.com Pants: Cos, $115; cosstores.com
Despite the comfort and warmth they offer, puffers still get a bad rap for their shapeless, marshmallow-like silhouette. This season, give them a second chance. Pick a dark quilted version for a slimming effect, and elevate it with a sweater, a silk scarf, and tailored trousers. Shop the look below: Sweater: Sass amp Bide, $350; sassandbide.com Scarf: Tory Burch, $195; toryburch.com Jacket: Zara, $119; zara.com Pants: DKNY, $255; net-a-porter.com

INSPIRATION: VALENTINO

Who knew check could be so refined? Unite the matching pieces with an Oxford and pleated culottes.
Shop the look below: Button-down: Gap, $50; gap.com Sweater: Rag and Bone, $325; rag-bone.com Coat: Coat, $595; rag-bone.com Culottes: Asos, $68; asos.com
I hope these help you with your fall/winter layering.
