For last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Vanessa Hudgens’ hair made a slick-back but voluminous statement.

Inspiration: Chad Wood’s inspiration for the sleek and chic style was to play off the texture in Vanessa’s dress.

Step by step to recreate this look:

Get the Look of 'IT Girl' Zendaya Coleman from TeenChoice Awards

 

Last night, actress, activist, all-around "IT Girl" Zendaya Coleman dazzled the red carpet of 2017 Teen Choice Awards with hair inspiration from such 70's icons as Donna Summer and Chaka Khan. Celebrity Hairstylist Tym Wallace created this look - with an ode to this unforgettable era.

“For tonight’s look on Zendaya, I channeled my favorite era, the ‘70s, and drew inspiration from the most glamourous icons of that time. The vintage look Zendaya is wearing tonight is the perfect play on bouncy curls and shaggy layers,"states hairstylist Tym Wallace. 

Here is the step - by - step look

1.    At the foundation of this look is a nourishing shampoo and conditioner duo. I first prepped her hair with Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner to tackle any hair damage and dryness.

2.    Once her hair had completely air-dried, I wrapped large 1-inch sections of hair around a ½-inch FHI Heat Curling Iron. To keep the curls bouncy, it’s crucial to curl each section in alternating directions.

3.    After I let hair cool, I used a Mason Pearson Brush to gently comb out the curls for added definition.

4.    Finally to seal the look and keep her hair refreshed throughout the night, I sprayed her roots with Dove Unscented Dry Shampoo, followed by Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray to tame unwanted frizz and flyaway.

Atlanta Screening of Universal Pictures' GIRLS TRIP

Girl’s Trip’ Producer Will Packer and cast members Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall visited Atlanta to host an exclusive  screening of “Girls trip” last night at the SCADshow theatre.

Mayor Reed gave a special introduction for the producer and the cast of the film.

I was able to catch up with Regina Hall and Jada Pinkett Smith on the Red Carpet and I was able to ask them about their characters in the film. Check out the responses below.

Girl's Trip is about four lifelong friends—Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish— that travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. The film is Phenomenal, Tiffany Haddish is extremely hilarious and all the girls had great chemistry in the movie. I loved the message it is definitely worth checking out with the girls.

Spring into New Heights with Taraji P. Henson's Go-To Hairstylist - Tym Wallace

With spring around the corner - it’s time to refresh and revitalize your hair with "must have" trendsetting looks as seen on the red carpet and street style posts that are blazing across social media. Undercuts are becoming the trend in 2017, the special undercut technique can be applied on any hairstyle – from braids, bobs, and long hair.  

  

Celebrity hairstylist Tym Wallace who has worked fashionable style miracles on Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson Oscar-nominated actress Octavia Spencer, Disney superstar Skai Jackson and Brandy Norwood, just to name a few. 

I’m still in love with the fierce undercut and voluminous curls that he created for Taraji at the Golden Globes and with Tym tips you can easily recreate this look at home. 

“I was inspired by the iconic Diahann Carroll when creating Taraji’s Oscars look. Her demure, navy blue velvet Alberta Ferretti gown was the perfect, modern nod to old Hollywood glamour, and I wanted her hair to reflect the same”- Tym Wallace  

  

1) I prepped hair using Dove DermaCare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner ($4.99) which alleviates any scalp dryness and itch but keeps hair soft, nourished and manage 

2)  Once hair was cleansed, I sprayed Dove Absolute Curls Leave-In Detangler ($5.99) on 2-inch sections of hair before  blowing them dry with my Dyson blowdryer 3)  Next, I emulsified 2-3 pumps of Dove Absolute Curls Supreme Crème Serum ($5.99) in my hands and distributed it  evenly throughout her hair before using my jumbo FHI Heat barrel curling iron to create pin curls which I then set with velcro rollers to lock-in the curl memory. 4)  After curls were set, I took them down and  used my trusty Mason Pearson to brush through the roller set, then used my fingers to set the look in place before liberally spraying with Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray ($3.99)
